Interior Design Trends - What to look out for in 2015
It's the start of another year and we are already trying to guess what the biggest trend will be in 2015. Will there be another Ice Bucket Challenge? Will Loom Bands disappear? Those are all questions for another time. Today we are focusing on the world on Interior Design Trends; So what trends are we going to love in 2015?
Pantone has announced its colour of 2015. The winning colour is Marsala, which is a very earthy red/brown. Marsala was picked for its "impactful, full-bodied qualities" which make for an "elegant, grounded statement colour" and can be used alone or as a strong accent to numerous other colours. Marsala takes its name from fortified wine, which like the colour is rich with sophisticated, natural grounding red-brown roots. Marsala can be quite a heavy tone, but it is incredibly stylish. Instead of decorating a whole room in marsala, why not choose one feature wall and paint that marsala. You can also choose to use marsala coloured accessories such as rugs and ornaments. Spring is also promising to be full of soft, cool hues and nature inspired neutrals.
Brass is a hot and heavy trend for 2015, which is so easy to incorporate into the home. This can be achieved through handles, door knobs, ever a letterbox. Copper is also incredibly in fashion - especially where light fittings are concerned.
Hit your local charity shops and dust off the velvet because it is back for 2015! Velvet and satin is making a huge come back and to give them a quirky twist, interior designers are teaming them up with industrial metal details. The juxtaposition of the two creates a vivid and memorable way of creating a bold and unique living space.
