Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm head of the Tech Team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune-in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the product that we have to offer, perhaps in a little bit more detail, in the flesh, so to speak, so it will help you make a more informed decision.
Today I want to talk to you about a set of sash window, centre, fixing units that we have on our website. They are obviously designed that if you got yourself a sash window you would fit these units in the centre and allows you then to be able to clamp one sash against the other. Quite a traditional way of being able to fix the two sashes together.
So nothing new about that saving except this particular version here has a locking head on it, so it allows you therefore to be able to close the actual windows together, you would be able to tighten this up then to be able to clamp the two windows and then with this screw, with this tool end, it allows you then to screw this particular piece in the back here in tight against this unit to stop it from being able to turn back out. So therefore allowing you be able to clamp the two sashes together.
So very, very basic principle of these are straight forward and very, very simple. I can try and do it here. This is actually spring loaded so once you have taking it off this particular intersash here, this will bounce up out of the way to allow you then to be able to open the window. So, if that was mounted on there like that, that would actually clamp down into there and then you would then screw that in tight and therefore then clamp the two together.
Once you have screwed it in tight enough you will then be able to crush that in as well and then that will clamp in against that nut and effectively stop this from opening any more then it will allow it there, and that's it then it won't come out any further. So really, really unique design in that respect.
But of course one of the most important things when your fitting these is have you got enough room in which to fit them onto the actual sashes.
So what we'll do is let's get ourselves some sort of measurements on this and the size of the foot is quite important in this particular application. So the actual depth of that there is about 21 millimetres, the actual length of that there is 60 millimetres and the fixing centres just in case you are thinking of changing these with another one as well, these are 45 millimetres fixing centres. So if your insurance is saying that you needing a lockable version of a centre sash window lock then maybe this is what you need to be looking for.
The footprint on this one, let's just quickly get a measurement on the foot print of this one, again that there is a good 19 millimetres and I dare say it is the same as 60 millimetres overall and then the centres there slightly different right about 47 millimetres there. So there you can see beautiful chrome finish, comes standard with the key and the four fixing screws as well.
So there you go guys, I hope that has given you an opportunity to see this product in a little bit more detail then what maybe the image may have and give you the opportunity to see it operating as well.
