Hi, guys. My name's Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here are LocksOnline. Thanks for taking the time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.
Now, today I want to talk to you about our LED lighting range that we have on our sister site, LocksOnline.com. It's actually a massive range of LED light fittings that we have there, of all different types of applications: mood lighting, display lighting, kitchen lighting, unit lighting. Whatever type of lighting that you think that you're looking for, guys, we've got a massive range. Come over and have a look.
This particular video that we're talking about today is for one particular type of fitting, we're trying to do videos on all of the fittings to give you guys a little bit more insight as to how the product looks and we switch it on, and what you need to get it all up and running.
Okay. So this is the actual light fitting that I want to talk to you about today. It's an actual ceiling light and it's designed to sit up into a ceiling, etc. as part of the Loox 350-mA range that Loox are now doing. Now of course you can get a transformer for this. The transformer is designed to run four of these, and we'll talk about the transformer a little bit later on.
So this particular type of fitting is designed that if you were to drill a 17mm hole up into you ceiling, these little spring clips then would be crushed up into the fitting and that what will actually then hold it up into the actual ceiling itself. So the size of the hole you need is about 70mm. What I will do is I'll just give you a big depth there, which is 21mm there. So that's the amount of thickness and substrate you'd be looking at being able to fit this to.
One of the other unique fitting that this fitting has as well is that it can actually swivel, so depending on which way you're wanting the unit, once you've actually sat it down, if you want it to be directional, either way, you can actually swivel it backwards or forwards like that. Okay. So then you can make your mind up as to where you want the lighting. Could be that you have a row of lights looking at some paintings on the wall, in which case then you want to slightly angel it towards the wall. Okay. So that's the idea of being able to swivel those lights like that.
So let's get on to the transformer. Oh, just before I do that, it comes with a lead as well. This will give you then up to about 2 metres, so wherever you fit this then you have another 2-metre lead then before you need to plug into a transformer.
Now this is the standard transformer. It's designed to take four fittings. These particular links here are links that you would leave in if you're only having one fitting or two fittings perhaps, then you would take another one of these units out and just leave the two fittings in. So, they must have a link in there if you're not using the hole basically; if you're not using the port.
One of the other advantages with this particular transformer as well is that it's got a little plug-in socket here, which that allows you to plug a switch so you can switch these lights on and off locally. So this is the actual light switch that will work in conjunction with that. It's a very, very small and petite switch. You just switch it on and switch it off. It's as simple as that, that's all it does. There's about 20mm there in length, and you're looking at around about a 11mm hole there to drill into your substrate.
So, okay, so if I was to plug this into here, it's a little bit finicky the first time that you do it. So I'll just pop that into there like that, and there you go. Get this into position. And this is a warm light one that's available and it is absolutely stunning. Lovely finish there on the polished chrome and the satin finish as well, and it really exudes the quality that you maybe want to look for. And of course then you've got this angling as we mentioned to you before as well in the past. So that absolutely is beautiful. And it's quite an intense spot. I don't know if you can zoom down onto the unit there, and you can see it's a very, very intense spot there. Now, if I was to just pop that down there like that for a second and I was to actually plug in the switch into the side here, now I have complete control where I can actually switch this on and off there like that. Simple as that.
So absolutely beautiful piece of engineering. I'm quite impressed with that, if I have to be honest with you. And I can see that being a really nice addition to somebody's unit or light display cabinets or ceiling lights or for highlighting pictures on walls from a ceiling light.
So there you go, guys. That's part of the range of LED lights that we have on our website. Of course, there are loads and loads more, so feel free to have a browse and have a look around. Like I said, we're just doing these short little videos so you get a chance to actually see the lights in the flesh to see if it's a fit for your application.
But listen, if you need a bit more advice, maybe this isn't the fitting for you, but we've got a lot more, but if you want a bit more of advice or if you want a little bit more information, by all means pop online. Use the live chat that we have on our website. It's certainly free and you can speak to me or any of the guys in the sales or the tech team. We can talk you through all the different permutations and options, or give us a call on 0845-230-02-01 or e-mail inquiries@LocksOnline.co.uk.. Either way, we'd love to hear from you. More importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the team, take care. We'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now.
