Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look of one of our product review videos. Now, we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer and in the flesh, so to speak. So therefore then you can make a bit more of an informed decision. And perhaps it'll give you a little bit more information of what you may not get from the image and the description, as well. And sometimes it's just so nice to be able to see something in the flesh.
So this is one of the bell pushers that we have on our website. It's a brass-plated bell push. The idea of this is that it's for a doorbell. So if you're wanting to fit this, there's the terminals there on the back. It's a normally opened contact. And the idea is that you'll drill yourself a small hole, fit this plate over. And, of course, with a nice brass finish there. And it looks antique. And it obviously looks stylish. And have a little bit of panache. And of course, it's designed then to work in tandem with a nice set of door furniture, etc.
So this is quite a wide plated, as you can see. Most traditionally in the UK, they're slightly narrower. But obviously the manufacturer seen is a call for a slightly wider plate here in this particular application. So as this is so wide, let's get some measurements on this for you. So we're looking at there 75 mm and it's probably square. Yep. It's 75 mm square. The fixings centre there. Let me get some fixings centres, as well. The fixings centres there are just about 61 mm give or take. So it's about 61 mm across there.
On the back here as you can see, you can see there the actual screws there that you would connect your wires into or you'd wrap your wires around and screw that up real tight. And you got this nice brass ferrule then that sits around it like that. And then of course then it's just the bell push as we would expect to see in the UK.
It comes with a standard set of four screws, as well obviously for the four finishes there, as well.
So just a little few top tips. Of course, in the UK we have a problem with brass tarnishing a little bit. If you were to polish this and you wanted to keep it all nice and polished with a bit of silver polish or brass polish, do yourself a favour and use a little car wax after. Put a little car wax over it and you'll get a lot more months' worth of free service. You know, if it starts to wear off and starts to corrode because brass will technically want to protect itself by creating that green hue that you see on brass. So if you want to try and keep it in this nice shiny finish, just by simply using a bit of car polish, puts that protection on it. So there's a little top tip from us.
So there you go, guys. There's not really much more I can say about the product. But if you need a bit more information on this or any of the products that we have on our website, by all means, pop us over an email, use the live chat or give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you, and more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer.
So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the team, take care. We'll catch up with you real soon. Take care. Bye-bye.
