These particular doorstops are an iconic style within the range of door stops available on the market. They have been around for years, and due to their simplicity, discretion, and effectiveness, they have outlasted many other styles and continue to be one of the most popular choices.
Mounted to the floor, this metal domed / hemispherical door stop provides a sturdy stopping point for your door, whilst protecting the foot of the door from damage by dampening the blow with the rubber buffer you see in the photo.
The idea is that the bolt projecting out of the bottom would be pushed and/or screwed into a predrilled hole (if you don't have a hole drilled already, don't worry, simply drill yourself a 6mm hole into the floor and you're good to go!), and by doing so, the bolt projecting into the floor will absorb all of the force the door will cause.
Finally there is a countersunk fixing screw to keep the door stop from misaligning at all over time.
Bear in mind that the 'lip' on this is approximately 2mm / 2.5mm, so make sure that your door will allow for this - most door installations will give plenty of clearance here!
Available in various finishes, there should be an option that suits you!

Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer and hopefully give you a little bit more information in doing that.
So today, I want to talk to you about a doorstop that we have on our website. Now, to be honest with you, this is probably the staple of doorstops. It's one of the most popular styles and designs that's available on the market these days. It's a domed door stop there. This bolt that projects at the bottom, the idea is that you would drill yourself a hole down into the floor and you would insert that into the hole and that's actually what stops the actual door stop from moving. So the screw that would become supplied with it that sits in here it's just holding into position. That's all it's basically designed to do, is hold the doorstop in its location. So all the weight of when the door comes up and hits against the doorstop is transferred through to this bolt that's situated at the bottom there.
Now, they do come in all different finishes here. This is just a standard satin silver finish and then you've got the black rubber bumper. The end of the door will hit up against there. Now, to give you some sort of idea of measurements and so forth, the overall measurement here is around about the 47 millimetres. The size of the screw on the bottom here, you need to be looking at drilling yourself a hole of about 25 millimetres.
I'll just get a quick measuring on the diameter of that hole that you need to drill there. You'll need to be drilling about a 6-millimetre hole for that. One of the other things as well, will be worth looking at is how much space you're going to need here. This particular part here is, some people forget about and that there is you want to be looking at around about two, two and a half millimetres. So the door obviously is going to come over the top of that to be able to hit against the stop there. So it's about your two-penny girths of a size.
So there you go, guys. Not really much to say other than that. But it does give you the opportunity to see the product in the flesh so to speak and therefore then help you make a bit better informed decision. But if you need more info on this or any of the products that we have, pop us over an email. Use the live chat that we have or simply do it the old-fashioned way and pick up the phone and give us a call. We'd love to hear from you and we'd love to see you as one of our cherished customers.
