Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I am head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products in perhaps a little bit more detail and in the flesh so to speak to help you make a more informed purchase.
Today I want to talk to you about some rods that we have here. They're glass supporting shelf rods. They're designed to actually be screwed into a wall and allow you then to position a glass shelf on top. Obviously, you don't necessarily have to use glass. You can use timber, but of course they're designed to look aesthetically pleasing through the glass so to speak.
These are the actual supports as you can see here. Now the way that these will be fitted is you will drill yourself a hole roughly around a 12-millimeter hole. The exact size is in the instructions, and the idea is then, if I just take that off there a second, you will see then you have a little flat on either side here, so you would need to get yourself a spanner, and you would then be able to, if you put this on first like that, and you would then screw this then into the wall like that, until it was up in as tight as you can into the wall plug.
Then you would have these two rubber buffers here as you can see, and these two rubber buffers then, you would actually support the glass shelf on top of that. That's the way it would work. Now they're sold as a pair. They're rated at about 10 kilos holding weight in respect to them being fixed as a pair.
The actual ends here can be unscrewed, not that it has any purpose, but if you just needed to make that slight adjustment just in case that the glass was slightly oversized, then you could actually adjust those to make sure that the glass sits up against there if you want it to. And this particular part here just sits in there and as you tighten up then, that would actually become like a ferrule against the wall so to speak.
Now to get yourself some sort of sizes and measurements, let's get ourselves a few quick measurements here for you. The actual overall length of the inside there, you would be quite happy and comfortable getting away with round about a 220-millimetre shelf there.
The actual overall length of the whole unit, if I can just set that on there like that, the actual overall length of the whole unit there is about 285 millimetres. The actual thickness of the stainless steel pipe there is about 12.5 millimetres. Let me just make sure. Sorry, forgive me. Yeah, that's 12 millimetres. And the actual damage off of the end fluke here as well, just to give you some sort of idea there, that's around 22 millimetres.
So there you go guys. Nice set of supports there for glass shelves available on our website, but if you need a bit more information on these or a little bit more advice, by all means pop us over an email. Use the live chat that we have. You can talk to me or any of the guys totally free off our website, or simply do it the old fashion way and pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you, and more importantly we'd love to see you as a customer.
So from me, Darrel, and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in, and we'll catch up with you real soon. Take care now, bye-bye.
