These particular shelf support brackets are an incredibly versatile bracket in that they are collaspable. They allow for a shelving unit to be lifted up and locked into place when desired, and then lowered flush against the wall when not required for use.
When lifting the shelf, the supporting arm is sprung, so will automatically follow the open angle of the shelf, until it finally locks into place at 90 degrees.
To lower the shelf when you no longer want to use it, you would simply press the release lever on the underside of the front end of the bracket (seen in the product photo and in the video), which will lift the supporting arm out of its locking groove, and allow the shelf to be lowered.
These are rated to carry up to 40kg per pair - including the weight of the shelf!
Made of steel with a yellow chromatized finish, these aren't the prettiest of supports, but more of a practical shelving solution in tight spaces and work environments where temporary shelving is in and out of use regularly.
These could also be used for folding table ends, if a suitable mounting is available on the under-side of the table!

Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm head of tech team here at LocksOnline. Many thanks for taking the time to tune in, and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we got these short little videos together to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products we have to offer, perhaps a bit more detail than you may expect from a bit of descriptive or an image.
Today I'm going to talk to you about a collapsible shelf hinge and or bracket that we have. The idea here is this is the actual bracket here, you obviously need a few of them. I mean, it may be applications where you may need to be able to lift the shelf up for doing certain work etc., and then you need to drop it down to give yourself some space, then maybe this is what you are actually looking for.
Now obviously, you would have a few of these together, they are sold as single units. This would be the fixing against the actual wall itself. You've got two screw fixings there so that allows you to screw this to the wall, and then you've got two screw fixings at the top to screw to the shelf or the table top that you plan on wanting to use.
What's quite novel, is when you want to release it and drop it down, on the leading edge here you have a little finger press button for want of a better word and what that initiates is the table or the shelf to drop down. So, if I can replicate that, if that's fixed up against the wall there, if I press that there it pushes that bracket away, allows you then to drop it down all the way flush to the actual wall itself.
When you want to lift it back up there is a bit of spring tension on that, when you want to lift it back up , you bring it back up like that and it will then click into position, and there you go. You've now got it back in the strong position to allow you to do with it as you please.
Now I can imagine some of these perhaps on a burger van, I think you've all visited burger vans one day and you got this this small little shelves out at the front of a burger van, etc., where you can get your milk and your coffee and so forth, serving shelves, etc. So it has multiple uses, I'm sure you can find probably find uses in the kitchen or maybe in the bathroom as well.
So, just to reiterate, that's basically how it works there like that and they are actually sold in singles. Now, I will very quickly get you some quick measurements on this just to give you a little bit more information. The actual size off the bracket there is 250 millimetres. The actual size of the plate that will be fixed to the wall there as you can see is about 18 millimetres, and the actual width of the fixing plate there on the back there is about 24 millimetres.
So there you go guys, just one of the exciting range of products we have on our website. But listen, if you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice on this or any of the products we have, pop us over an email, use the live chat that we have or simply do it the old fashioned way and give us a call. Either way we'd love to hear from you, and more importantly, we'd love to see you as our customer.
So, for me, Darrel, and all of us at the team, many thanks for taking the time to tune in, and we'll catch up with you real soon. Thanks a lot, bye-bye.
