HAWA have been producing architectural hardware in the sliding and folding systems market for 50 years now, and have really made a brilliant name for themselves through their unique designs and production of highly refined products.
On this HAWA Prameta hinge, we were impressed by the precision of every detail. The angles at which it sits both open and closed are incredibly accurate, which instantly gives great confidence in the product, as when it comes to folding doors, precision is paramount to keep things both functional and pleasing on the eye.
With a full range of 0 degrees to 180 degrees, these hinges are suitable for both free swinging and guided folding doors, and are sprung so's to provide stability in the open and closed position, whilst also offering some assistance in the opening and closing once you've openned (or closed) it to the half way point.
The gap between the doors created by the hinge is variable from 9mm up to 10mm to allow for fine-tuning in order to avoid scuffing or chafing between the doors. What's more, is that you can also adjust the height of each leaf by 1mm up or down too. So you have a great degree of flexibility here.

Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at Locks Online. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we put these short little videos together in order to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products we have to offer in a little bit more detail than you may just get from the image, etc. and hopefully to give you a little bit more advice, also, in regards to the product itself.
Today I want to show you a bi-fold hinge that's designed for cabinets. The idea with this particular type of hinge it allows you that if you have a door that you want to fold back on yourself then you might want to consider this particular type of hinge to do that. As I actually close up in there like that, it allows me to be able to close it all the way back in there. As you can see there, no problem at all.
Now, this particular type of hinge also has the ability . . . here I've loosened off the screws. As you can see, we've got loads of degree of tolerance in respect to how we want to actually set it up. I think the manufacturers say you got from around 0mm up to around about 10mm of flexibility in regards to the way these are actually fixed in.
Now, what I will do while I've got these here is to just give you a quick idea of some measurements, etc. just to give you some sort of idea as to whether they are going to fit for your particular application. The overall length of these is 60mm. The fixed in centres are roundabout 47mm, I would suggest, the fixing centres are.
The actual depth overall, if you are wanting to fit one of these, you are looking there at around about the 13mm, maybe slightly less, maybe 12mm there. That gives you an idea as to how deep that you would need to be fixing these into.
So there you go guys. It's a bi-fold hinge and it's available on our website. Listen, if you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice on this or any of the products that we have, always pop us over an email or use the live chat that we have or simply give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and more importantly, we'd love to see you as one of our customers. So, from me Darrel, and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and we hope to catch up with you real soon. Take care now. Bye-bye.
