Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking the time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now, I'm putting these short, little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer perhaps in a bit more detail than you may expect from an image or a bit of descriptive text on our website.
Today I want to talk to you about a small, little product that we have. It's basically a plastic dowel. It's a plastic equivalent to a standard wooden dowel. The difference is, with this particular unit however, is that it has a serrated edge on either side there. I don't know if you can zoom in close enough to see that. So therefore then, once you've drilled your hole, you can actually just tap these in to give it the strength that you need. I mean, I'm sure that if you have a non-destructive glue as well, you'll pop a little bit of glue there that doesn't melt plastic as well. Give it that little bit of an additional adhesion as well. So it's a plastic version in which to replace a wooden dowel, but while I've got you here, let's get some measurements for you.
The overall length of this particular unit there is 30mm overall. The actual diameter of the actual unit itself is 8mm. So that's the size of the hole that you'd be wanting to drill. The actual size of the serrated edge there, which is designed to grip, is just about 8.4mm, so if by drilling an 8mm hole, you can then push that in. That little half of a millimetre would give you that strength perhaps that you need.
So there you go, guys. There's not really much that we can talk about. A little plastic dowel. But at least it gives you the opportunity to see it in the flesh, so to speak. And hopefully it might be fit for the application that you're looking for. But if you need a bit more information on this or any of the products that we have, by all means, pop us over an email, use the live chat that we have, or simply do it the old-fashioned way and pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and more importantly, we'd love for you to be one of our customers. So thanks for taking the time to tune in. We'll catch you real soon. Bye-bye.
