Hi, guys. My name's Darrel and I'm head tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now, we're putting these short little videos together to be able to allow our customers the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer in a little bit more detail than perhaps an image and a little bit of descriptive text may have to offer.
Today I want to talk to you about a flush hinge that we've got on our website. This is a stainless steel flush hinge. It's got a ball-bearing race that is inside as well. Quite a smooth operation that you get with ball-bearing hinges. I must admit it's very, very sweet. There's no ratcheting or anything there in regards to how it works. Pivots really, really well. Now obviously their sold as a set. You would be able to get maybe two or three of these on a door depending on the weight of the door. The manufacturers claim about 45kg on holding weight on one of these hinges.
One of the distinct advantages as well is they come with two sort of fixings. They come with self-tappers there and they come with wood screws. So I'm kind of guessing that the manufacturers would suggest that this may actually be fit for an aluminium door perhaps as well. Now on the back end here you'll see that it's all counter sunk. It's designed obviously to take those particular type of screws there. Obviously on the other side, as well, it's designed to take those screws there. So there's three on the outer leaf and obviously three on the inner leaf as you can see.
Of course the beauty is with these is that when you actually fit them up if look at that, because they are flush, you've only got that thickness between the plate and the frame and the actual door which can be a distinct advantage if you need to get that really, really tight. The thickness of that is 2.3 millimetres. So there's quite a thin two penny gap that you can achieve with this particular type of hinge.
To give you some sort of idea of measurements. The overall height of that there is 100 millimetres. The overall width to the start of the knuckle there is 36 millimetres there. This would fit on a standard 44 millimetre door. No problem at all. The inner leaf as well, let me give you a quick measure on that to the inner knuckle there as well. That there is 22 millimetres. If you can zoom in there. It will probably be upside down for you but that is 22 millimetres as well there. Just to give you the height on that as well, while I'm there that there is 55 millimetres, 54-55 millimetres across there.
There you go, guys. It's in a nice polished stainless steel finish as well which actually looks and feels good quality product indeed. So there you go.
