Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. We put these short little videos together to be able to get you, our customers, a bit more of a informed decision and to be able to show you the products in the flesh, so to speak.
Today, I want to show you a set of privacy turns that we have in a stainless steel finish, as you can see here. Basically, its designed for bathrooms or toilets or shower units - anywhere where you want a degree of privacy and in which case on the inside you want to be able to throw the bolt over with the turn and on then the outside you want to be able to show that room is actually engaged or vacant.
Now the actual piece that you see on the outside here has the ability to be turned to either green which you can see there, to say that it's obviously vacant. And then when this is actually engaged there this would turn around, if I can get this to turn around there, it would then go to red to show that it's engaged.
Now the whole idea of this particular part here as you can see, allows you to be able to override the turn if you ever need to in the event of an emergency. If you need to get into the bathroom, if somebody has fallen or whatever in the bathroom, then of course you can override this particular privacy turn by a little screwdriver slot here like a 50 penny piece slot, or whatever. Or you can actually physically turn it with your hand if you have to, but obviously you'll need to put some pressure on that depending on the bolt that's actually being used.
The inside piece here, as you can see, has a lovely oval turn. And again very, very smooth operation as you can see there.
Now the way that these actually fix onto the actual door is you got this inner plate that would actually either be screwed on or it does come with through bolt fixings as well if you want to use the through bolt fixings. If the bolt that you plan on using has through bolt accessories then I always recommend using the through bolt fixings as it really gives a lot of strength.
Then you would then tap the plate on then after to be able to engage both those. It comes as well with an 8-millimetre spindle, so you need to make sure that the bolt that you are going to use this with actually has an 8-millimetre spindle - that's quite important.
Now it comes in two different finishes there is a satin finish, as you can see here, and there is also a polished finish as well. I'll just very, very quickly get you a measurement of the oval diameter on that. We're talking there right about 53 millimetres overall diameter. The projection there, just to give you an idea of the actual projection on the door, the actual projection is about... just come over there slightly... there you go... The projection there is about 26-27 millimetres. That's how much it would project off there.
So there you go guys there's not really much that we can say about them. It just gives you an opportunity to see the product in the flesh, so to speak. And hopefully you can then turn around and say "That's exactly what I'm looking for." Hopefully, then this video will give you that information. But listen, if you need some more info or you want a bit more advice, by all means, pop us over an email, use the live chat. You can talk with me through the day or any of the guys on the sellers team. Or alternatively do it the old fashioned way and pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you, and more importantly, we'd love to see you as one of our customers.
So from me, Darrel, and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and catch up with you real soon. Bye.
