The closing force grade of these is the standard 3-4, also complimenting its suitability for Fire Doors. The closing speed and pull-to action are both adjustable too, so you can fine-tune the closer to work perfectly for your application - in either Fig 1, Fig 61 or Fig 66 Transom application.

Hi guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at Lock Online. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now, we've put these short little videos together to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer and hopefully a little bit more detail or in the flesh, so to speak. So today, I want to show you a universal door closer. It's the Geze TS-1500 door closer that we have, that's available on our website. Now this is a standard fire rated door closer. It's EN-1154 standard rating etc., So therefore, you know that it's going to okay to work on fire doors etc. It also has the strength of between three and four, which is obviously designed to be able to close 30 and 60 minute doors. So you need to know that this will be the closer that would be suitable for that.
Now, of course, if you're thinking of fitting this on a fire door, one of the most important things to do be able to put yourself some intumescent paper between the door and the actual closer. There's a bit of a top temp there. It's just to stop the heat transfer. But anyway, one of the advantages with this particular closer is that it has a myriad of different styles and finishes etc. The one that we have on us today or in the show here today is the stainless steel effect. But as you can see from the list from our website, there's loads of other different finishes as well. So it kind of allows you to be in keeping with the type of style and the panache that you are trying to look for in your home or in whatever you decide you want to fit this. So that's really a plus in that respect.
Also I wanted to mention to you as well, is that it has the ability to be fitted in all the three different applications; that's figure one, figure 61 and application 66 so you know that it doesn't matter how your door is configured, you'll be able to utilize this particular door closer. So the actual quality of the finish as you can see here is incredibly beautiful. It's kind of been brushed in regards to its finish there and there's a slight nickeling effect on the actual arm here as you can see. So it's actually quite stylish in regards to how it actually looks also. On the actual closer itself, this is the actual closer, this is the cover for the closer but as you can see here we have the ability here where you can adjust the closing speed and the latching action. So what you may want to do is bring the closer in at a certain speed and then speed it up just before the latch is due to try and force that latch into the key. To ensure that the door is actually closed. The fixings there, as you can see there are four fixings there, allows you then to fix this to the actual door or the frame, depending on which application that you plan on using. You can see there quite clearly it's the TS-1500. So what it means is that if you're thinking that you're wanting to replace, then that's what you'd be looking at if you got a like for like unit. On the back there as well you'll see then that it has some other specifications here made by DZ and so forth. So it will give you an idea to be able to spec it up incredibly well. You don't need to use the covers that come with these, it actually comes with its own nice cover there that can be situated on there and you just clip that into position. That actually looks quite nice as a cover on its own right in that silver effect. It comes with all your fixings. It comes with your application 66 bracket as well and a bag of fixings, a bag of screws, etc., all that is needed to pop the actual hole closer together. As you can see there with its cover on as well there, it kind of finishes off incredibly nice as you can see. One thing I will do while we're here is I'll get the instructions out and it will allow you, I'm sure Jack wouldn't mind just scrolling these here. So by all means, pause the video if it means that it will allow you to be able to see something on there in regards to its fitting etc. So we'll just quickly zoom all the way down and have a quick look at that. There's some more instructions as well on the back also that I'll flip it around when I get the nod there, just to make sure that you can actually have a chance. And like I said, pause the video and it will allow you to see it in a lot more detail. So I'll turn that around for you and obviously it might be a bit of a shadowing effect there but you know you should be able to see that a lot in close detail there. So by all means pause and you can then read on those instructions etc. or take a screen print if you require that to get some of the information there. So that's basically some of its fitting and installation guides that comes as standard with the actual unit itself.
So very, very quickly what I'll do and sometimes it's quite important, is to get yourself some fixings centers. So your overall size of the actual closer itself is about 176 mm there to the far end, 177 grabs. Therefore, then the actual width is 50, so if I was to look at it in this direction here I'm measuring from the far end over to the first fixing center. I'm getting in around about 84 mm and to the second fixing center there I'm going to run about 144, about 143 mm to that fixing center. These fixing centers here, for your information, run about 37 mm there between those two fixing centers. So there you go guys. That's the Geze, it's the TS-1500, it's available on our website but if you need a bit more information on this or any other products that you're looking at by all means pop us over an e-mail. Use the live chat that we have or simply pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way we'd love to hear from you and we'd love to see you as one of our customers. So from me Darrel and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and I hope to catch up with you real soon. Take care now. Bye bye.
